Custom Float Projects
**In April of 2006, Custom Float Services delivered and installed five 5 x 20 and two 5 x 16 aluminum frame floats and two 5 x 12 floating aluminum frame ramps. Due to the freshwater, use and the lack of accessibility to the beach, the float system needed to be modular, lightweight and safe for children. We were able to meet all the needs of the customer with an aluminum frame float decked in removable CorrectDeck panels and anchored with galvanized pipe rather than chains and anchors. **During the month of February 2007, Custom Float Services will be constructing a mooring barge float capable of moving 7.5 ton mooring stones and also designed to transport large trucks and other machinery to surrounding islands. Highlights of the floats construction include a 4 x 12 engineered Parallam beam (one piece frame eliminating splice joints), 6 x 6 bottom skids, 3 x 8 rough-cut decking and six 48 x 96 x 32 tall float drums. The float drums will have a total flotation capacity of 27,768 lbs or 68 lbs/sq. ft. with a live load capacity of 8.5 tons. The center of the float will have a 4 x 6 open space (hole) in the decking where the customer will mount a wheel and frame to accompany a winch used for moving the mooring stones.
